1. Getting started

1. Create an account – with the invitation code or link from the operator (see Account).
2. Add your transmitter – the first time you log in, Hangar asks for your transmitter (brand + model).
3. Add your batteries – under Batteries, ideally each battery separately (e.g. “3S 2200 #1”, “#2”).
4. Add an aircraft – under Aircraft → + New: CG, batteries, switches, rates …
5. At the field – open Hangar on your phone, tap the aircraft, and everything important is on one page.

2. Account & app

Sign up

On the start page, choose Sign up. You need an invitation code from the operator – with the invitation link it is already filled in. Choose any username (your email address works too); password at least 8 characters.

Requesting access

No invitation code yet? On the login or sign-up page, tick I am human (a quick check in your browser – no Google, no cookies) and then tap Show email address – this shows you the operator’s contact address. This protects the address from spam bots. The sign-up form also requires this check.

Log in

With Stay logged in you won’t have to log in again on that device for 180 days.

Language

Hangar appears in German or English depending on your browser language. Use the DE/EN buttons at the top (also on the login page) to switch at any time. Your choice is remembered on this device; battery warning emails arrive in the language you last used.

As an app on your phone

• iPhone/iPad: Open in Safari → Share (square with arrow) → Add to Home Screen.
• Android: Open in Chrome → menu ⋮ → Add to Home screen.

Hangar then starts full-screen like an app. An internet connection is required.

3. Transmitters

Under Transmitters you add your radios – you can have as many as you like.

1. Tap the brand (Spektrum, FrSky, RadioMaster, Jumper, Futaba, Graupner, Jeti, Multiplex, FlySky, Radiolink or Other).
2. Enter the model – suggestions appear as you type (e.g. DX9, TX16S, T16IZ).
3. The switch template is loaded automatically (e.g. Spektrum A–H, I · EdgeTX SA–SH). Adjust it if you have swapped switches – one switch per line.

The templates are suggestions. Check the names on your transmitter.

4. Batteries

Adding batteries

Batteries → + New: cells, capacity, C rating, connector, weight, charge cycles, photo. You can type units like “mAh” or “g” – they are removed automatically. If you have several identical batteries, enter the number under Number of identical batteries to create – Hangar creates them individually, each with its own number (#1, #2 …), so cycles and charge state are correct per battery. Buying another one later? On the battery page, use Create identical battery again.

Battery number & QR label

Every battery automatically gets a number (#1, #2 …) – that’s how you tell identical batteries apart. Under Batteries → QR labels you choose the batteries and the label size and print the labels (or save them as a PDF). Cut out the label, stick it on the battery, ideally cover it with clear adhesive film. Scanning it with your phone camera opens the battery page directly – enter the voltage right there.

The QR code opens in the browser (Safari/Chrome). You need to be logged in there once – with “Stay logged in” it stays that way.

Recording the charge state

Open the battery → Charge state at the top:

• Quick buttons Full 4.20 (automatically counts +1 charge cycle), Storage 3.80, Empty 3.60 – or type your own voltage per cell.
• Date/time is prefilled but can be adjusted (e.g. charged yesterday).
• Save voltage – the state appears in the battery list and on the aircraft, e.g. “Full · 4.20 V · for 2 days”.

Warning for incorrect storage

If a battery sits above 3.80 V/cell for more than 48 hours, it is marked ⚠︎ red and you get an email. As soon as you record a new voltage (e.g. Storage 3.80), the warning stops. You set the threshold and hours under Settings.

Defective & history

Under Data → Status you can set a battery to Defective or Disposed (with a reason, e.g. “puffed”). Every measurement, status change and cycle correction is listed in the History at the bottom of the battery page. Tip: set batteries to “Disposed” rather than deleting them – that way their history is kept.

5. Adding an aircraft

Aircraft → + New (or Edit on an existing aircraft). Only the name is required; you can fill in everything else bit by bit. At the end, tap Save at the bottom.

General

Name, category, manufacturer, wingspan, weight, cover photo.

Centre of gravity

CG in mm and Measured from (pick a suggestion or type your own, e.g. “leading edge of lower wing”). Upload a photo and tap the image to mark the CG.

Batteries

+ Assign battery: flight time, timer in the transmitter, position in the fuselage and a photo of the battery position. Mark one battery as Default.

Transmitter

Choose the transmitter, model memory, name in the transmitter, receiver (with suggestions). Insert switch template creates the switch rows – for each position (Pos 0/1/2), enter what happens. Empty switches are hidden in the view. Under Rates/Expo, enter the values in % for aileron, elevator and rudder per switch position.

Gyro

System (e.g. AS3X, SAFE), gain switch and roll/pitch/yaw/heading in % per flight mode.

Checklist

One item per line – to tick off at the field.

Tech

Motor, ESC, propeller, servos, notes. Under Status you can archive sold or dismantled models.

Duplicate (at the bottom of the aircraft page) copies an aircraft with all its settings – handy for similar models.

6. At the flying field

• Tap an aircraft – at the top is the jump bar (CG, batteries, transmitter, gyro, gallery, flight log).
• Tapping images opens them full-screen (CG mark and battery position clearly visible).
• Tick off the checklist; reset it for the next flight.
• Log a flight: choose the battery, enter the flight time as 6:30 or 6.5, and increase the count for several identical flights. Hangar uses this to calculate average and max flight time per battery.

7. Gallery (photos & videos)

• Aircraft → Gallery → + Photos / videos: choose from your library or shoot directly, several at once if you like.
• Large videos are uploaded in chunks (progress bar) – keep the page open in the meantime.
• Tap = full-screen; swipe or use the arrows to browse. There you’ll find Set as cover or Delete.

iPhone videos play in Safari (iPhone, iPad, Mac). On Windows they may not play in Chrome/Edge – fix: iPhone → Settings → Camera → Formats → “Most Compatible”.

8. Viewing other hangars

At the top of the aircraft list you choose: Mine, another user’s hangar, or All. You can only view other people’s aircraft. With Copy to my hangar you take one over as a template (transmitter data, CG, photos – you assign your own batteries).

Don’t want others to see your hangar? Settings → untick Other users may view my hangar.

9. PDF data sheet

• One aircraft: very bottom of the aircraft page → PDF data sheet.
• All aircraft: very bottom of the aircraft list (Mine) → All as PDF.

It includes the cover photo, CG with CG photo, batteries with position photo, transmitter/switches/rates, gyro, checklist and a flight log summary – without the gallery. On iPhone: the PDF opens in Safari → Share → Save to Files or print.

10. Settings

My hangar

Visibility for other users on/off.

Battery warnings

Email address, warning threshold (V/cell) and hours; use Send test email to check that emails arrive (check your spam folder too).

Change login

Change username and password. Other devices then have to log in again.

Log out

At the very bottom.

11. Tips & FAQ

Forgot your password?

Ask the operator of the hangar – they can set a new password.

Sign-up doesn’t work?

Check the invitation code (upper/lower case doesn’t matter). If registration is closed, ask the operator.

Forgot to save?

While editing, Hangar warns you if you leave the page with unsaved changes.

Positions 0/1/2?

These are the switch positions as your transmitter names them (on EdgeTX ↑ / – / ↓).

Is my data shared?

Only with logged-in users of this hangar – and only if your hangar is visible. Others can’t change anything.
